About the Charity

The Puppet Theatre Barge is managed and run by registered charity Art of the Puppet (charity no. 276527). Art of the Puppet was founded in 1978 to apply its income to puppetry in education, both directly in schools and in a wider sense for children and adults of all ages. This includes supporting the presentation of puppet shows to children and adults, running puppet workshops for schools, supporting the Puppet Theatre Barge productions, supporting two trainee puppeteers annually and contributions to the making of puppet productions.

Art of the Puppet is governed by a board of trustees, who work voluntarily to look after the charity, and by extension, the Puppet Theatre Barge.
